Oh Bundle of Joy!

Its been 1 week and a day since I gave birth to one of the best things that happened to my life - a 5 lbs 2 ounces of perfection.

Mavis Gabrielle

Labor
I was admitted at the hospital at around 1am on May 16.
I wasn't in much pain during that time so I was still able to put on some
decent clothes and wear a little bit of make up (yeah, its so Kourtney Kardashian of me). I texted my bestfriend so we waited for her to arrive at my house before going to the hospital.

taken by my best friend before leaving me at the delivery room
So here's the blow by blow of what happened to me when I was inside.

  • 2:00 AM - my contractions are getting stronger and closer together, I was 3cm dilated around this time.
    • I was closely monitoring my baby's heart rate and my contractions during that time. It was pretty boring inside the labor suite.
  • 5:30 AM - my water broke. 4cm dilated.
    • by this time I started to countdown the hours since the baby should be already out in not more than 6 hours or else there will be a lot of complications for the both of us.
  • Then around 9AM (wild guess) nurses put on some sedative in my IV that really knocked my out.
  • 11:30AM - 6cm dilated. Even feel like baby's about to come out. (just imagine the pain!)
  • Next thing I know I was told by my doctor that I have to go to the operating room and they need to perform C-Section.
What happened during the time I was knocked out: My baby's heart rate went flat for a while that was why when I woke up (from what seems like a very long sleep) I already have oxygen attached and all that other stuff. [my best friend and parents told me this when they transferred me to my room, I almost lost my baby Gabby]
Hello Baby!
At the operating room I was half awake and half asleep and VERY groggy from all the meds they've been putting in my epidural and IV. And the next thing I hear was, "Baby out, 1:45pm" then I heard my baby's cry, then the nurses showed me the baby, could not tell what she looks like because I was so groggy because of the amount of anesthesia they put me on. Although I heard my doctor and anesthesiologist saying how cute my baby was and that her eyes are so big and open already.

First person who saw and get a hold of my baby after giving birth was my best friend. :)
Recovery
What I asked when I was transferred to my room, "What day is it?" I really thought it was May 17 already. but it was just 5pm of May 16.

I was in the hospital for 3 days, and in those three days I was visited by my family and close friends.
With Rona, who's been super gigil with my baby
With Rona,, Roxy, my best friend and charming little Xander (who's gonna break hearts when he grows up)
And I would like to thank my best friend whose been there since my labor to the time I went home. I love you so much!
See how tired she was? Thank you bff for everything. <3<3

The First Week
Its been an incredible 7 days. She's been an angel, not much of a crier always smiles and makes me laugh when she does that wide eyed pouty face. She's so adorable and masungit at the same time. So far she's not giving me a hard time taking care of her, which is really good since I'm still recovering from the C-section stitches.

Oh Love!
