Yesterday I decided to start putting up the Christmas Tree, while prepping it, my little girl is watching the TV. After I got the tree up (just the tree, no decors yet), my daughter came to me and said, "wow" and she said that in a slow manner and astonished with the towering height of our tree compared to hers. What shocked me was what she said after that.
She tugged my shirt and I knelt down so we are about the same height, the she told me, "Thank you mama" and then she hugged and kissed me. This got me teary eyed immediately. My two year old is very appreciative, she's thankful of the little things.
Being a parent does not come with a manual, so 80% of the time, you really don't know what you're doing. You don't know if what you're doing is good enough. But looking at how my daughter acts, I think I'm doing it right (well not 100% of the time, she's still a toddler and in the 'terrible two' phase).
My little girl, always be appreciative of the little things, because remember that it's the little things that matter most.
